Lauren + Lance
How did you find the Trilogy Wedding Planning team?
We originally found out about Trilogy through searching for a day trip to Lanai while we were on vacation. We had an unforgettable day traveling to Lanai to explore and snorkel, and we felt the entire crew took such good care of everyone - It really transformed the experience. We subsequently followed Sail Trilogy on Instagram and luckily we found out they did weddings and the rest was history.
What did you like most about choosing a wedding at sea?
Being out on the water made us feel more humbled by the beauty of Hawaii than if we were on a land location. We felt it made the day not just about us and our commitment to each other, but about the gathering of our loved ones to see how magical Hawaii truly is and how special it is to us.
What was the theme for your wedding? Did you find unique ways to incorporate the theme into your wedding day?
We didn't have a theme, not even a color theme. We mainly just wanted to show our friends and family how amazing Hawaii is and hopefully give them a new perspective about our planet!
What elements of your wedding were most important to you?
Helping encourage our friends and family that wouldn't normally take this trip, or wouldn't normally go on a sunset sail like this, to experience some of the best vibes and aloha possible. We wanted to share our most cherished experience with the people we love the most.
Where did you find your stunning dresses?
Stillwhite.com which is an online worldwide marketplace (that indirectly promotes sustainable fashion - a cause we support). There you can purchase previously owned dresses. Both of my designer dresses, Grace Loves Lace and Pallas Couture, had not been worn before but had been owned previously, and both were from Australia where the fires had unfortunately destroyed many people's homes and wedding plans. I wanted to find a way to support affected people affected by the fires and I thought buying my dress from Australia would be a good way to do that.
When did you decide to do a “trash the dress” style jump into the ocean?
Not on purpose, but when we realized our wedding would fall on 'Leap Day,' we decided it would be funny to "LEAP" off the Catamaran as a fun play on words. Lauren is known for loving a good pun.
Tell us about your adorable dog-inspired drink menu!
We wanted to include our doggos in some way because we felt bad we couldn't have our dogs with us - as they are as much a part of our family as any human, so we decided to incorporate them into the wedding by naming our drinks after them. We found an artist Etsy who was able to create the menu and graphics. The graphics turned out PERFECT and really looked exactly like our dogs!
What are your favorite memories from the day?
First and foremost, standing at the front of the Catamaran and saying our vows, and ultimately saying "I Do" was the most memorable moment of the day. Also, You could see that every guest, no matter where they were from, no matter how old they were, and no matter how they knew us, were having the time of their lives and they made a point to come up to us to tell us that throughout the day, that night and even to this day! Even my 75 year old father who hasn't been on a boat in 35 years had the time of his life and he wouldn't have otherwise agreed to come with us. Some of our best photos are of him dancing at sunset.
